Thursday night we got hit a huge thunderstorm. Some places downtown Phoenix were hit with almost 100 mile an hour winds. Roofs were torn off buildings and electrical posts were down all over. We got almost 2 inches of rain. Friday night John and I were walking in our subdivision and this is a picture of our park which is under about 3 feet of water. This is where the soccer field and basketball courts are. As you can see, the ducks are taking full advantage of this new "lake". We were very fortunate not to have any damage on or around our house. The fence at work was blown in and we have pulled up with a strap and the pick up truck right now. John had to run down to the office at midnight and fix it so one of our drivers could get in the yard. The practice field at ASU had the roof ripped off, which was made of canvas, and parts of it were found miles away.
We definitely have had our share of monsoon storms this summer. They are pretty cool to watch. It usually comes in over the mountain with a lot of lightning and very loud thunder. Our summer rain fall is over 5 inches this year!

I am glad to hear that you are ok - but wow about everybody else - that is scary.
Kind of a cool picture though - despite the damage.
Wow - is that the park that we walked around in? Glad you and yours are okay!
