Kansas, Styx and Foreigner Concert
We went to a fantastic concert Friday night. It was 3 classic rock bands from the 70's/80's - Kansas, Styx and Foreigner. We have seen them all before at one time or another, but to have them all in one night was great. The concert was downtown Phoenix at the Dodge Theater (whoever has gone to Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding has been there). It is an awesome venue. We started the night out meeting Don, Mary, Mark and Vicki down at Majerle's for dinner. As we walked to the Dodge, we passed the statue in front Renaissance building that they recently made a Phoenix Suns uniform for to celebrate the Suns being in the playoffs. It was huge!! They did say the uniform was almost as big as Shaq's though. When we got to the Dodge Theater we asked some unsuspecting lady to take a group picture for us. She was absolutely hilarious. We ended up taking a picture of her because she was so funny. We also ran into Bonnie (John's classmate from Seymour), her daughter Charity and some of their friends. They ended up coming and sitting by us later on when we still had some seats open by us. John and I are really feeling our age this morning as after the concert, Mark suggested we go somewhere else, so we ended up at the Silver Pony which is not too far from our house (or theirs). I think we stayed to closing time (or close to it). All way too much fun!! It's definitely a rest day for us today.
