Weekend in L.A.
John and I finally got our weekend in L.A. this past weekend. We had such a fun time! If you haven't heard yet, John's transmission in his pick up truck (with only 49,000 miles on it) puked last week and was going to be a huge repair. Using his car dealership experience, John was able to get a fantastic deal on a Honda Element with trading in his pick up truck (as is). It was too good to pass up. Anyway, with the Element, we were able to load our bikes inside. We drove to L.A. Friday after work and arrived around 11pm. We got up early Saturday morning and headed down to Redondo beach. We rode our bikes up the coast along the beach through Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. It was awesome! There was just a buzz of activity along the beach. Tons of volleyball nets were set up with lots of people playing, lots of bikers, runners, walkers, rollerbladers, skateboarders etc... on a paved trail. I don't think being sedentary is an option in L.A. :). We rode our bikes for about 3 hours, stopping for lunch and later for ice cream. After a nap at our hotel room, we headed down to Beverly Hills to The Grove (a very popular shopping area). We also drove through Beverly Hills to look at some of the houses and drove down Rodeo Drive. Sunday we headed to Hollywood. We parked and walked through the Hollywood Farmers Market (very cool) and then down Vine and Hollywood Blvd to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame. John was on a mission to find Alice Cooper's star and we did, towards the very end. After getting a milkshake at the Disney Cafe we headed back to the car and home to Phoenix. We had temperatures in L.A. around a high of 68 degrees, so the warm felt good back in Arizona!
Happy 26th Birthday to Stephanie yesterday! We hope you had a good one.
